1. Who we are
The data controller is:
WEDSVP SRL, Avenue de la Sapinière 2, 1180 Uccle, Belgium. VAT: BE 1034.665.742. Privacy contact: hello@wedsvp.com
2. Couples and guests: who is responsible for what?
WedSVP is used by two types of people, and our role differs for each.
You are a couple (account holder): you entrust us with your guests' data to manage your invitations. For that data, you are the data controller and WedSVP acts as a data processor: we only use it to provide the service, following your instructions. By adding your guest list, you confirm that you have informed your guests and that you are entitled to share their data with WedSVP for the purpose of organising your wedding.
You are a guest: your data was shared with us by the couple inviting you (Article 14 GDPR). We use it solely to deliver the invitation and collect your response. Your rights are described in section 9.
For couples' account data, billing and usage analytics, WedSVP is the data controller.
3. What data we collect
Couples' data:
- Name and email address
- Wedding details (date, venue(s), programme)
- Guest list
Guests' data (provided by the couple, then completed by the guest):
- Name, email address and phone number
- RSVP response and plus-one
- Dietary requirements: this field is optional and filled in freely by the guest. It may reveal sensitive information (health, religious beliefs); we use it solely for organising the wedding, nothing else.
Technical data:
- Connection logs and cookies strictly necessary for the app to function
4. Why, and on what legal basis
| Processing | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Account management, sending invitations, managing RSVPs | Performance of a contract (Art. 6.1.b GDPR) |
| Processing guests' data on behalf of the couple | Performance of a contract / controller's instructions |
| Billing and accounting | Legal obligation (Art. 6.1.c GDPR) |
| Service updates to prospects | Consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR) |
| Security and abuse prevention | Legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.f GDPR) |
5. Who has access to your data
Your guests, and no one else. Every wedding on WedSVP is protected: each guest receives their own personal, unique access code. Your wedding information is not public, not accessible via a simple link, and not indexed by search engines.
On the technical side, we rely on providers strictly necessary to run the service:

Your data may also be disclosed if required by law or by an authority.

Some of our providers (SendGrid, Google) may process data in the United States. These transfers are governed by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
7. How long we keep your data

- Rectification of inaccurate data
- Erasure ("right to be forgotten")
- Restriction of processing
- Portability of your data
